Oh, feck! Aren't there some anoying females singers around? So much bandwagon jumping. Adele? Do me a favour!

That said...Lily Allen...Kate Nash...they's OK. Even Winehouse has her place.

Wheeeeee!!!!

It must be the bipolar...but I'm even enjoying mundane shit. Here's my day:

Got up early. Went to local Royal Mail office to pick up a Guinea Rabbit tent (apparently we're buying Emil babies for his birthday. smiley - sadface)

Stopped at local deli. Baought very nice coffee...plus 'campaillette' loaf from 'The Waterside Bakery':

Delicious! Nibbled away at the crust. 'Strathaven' is pronounced 'Strayven'.

Saw that monthly farmers' market was on. Went down and bought a couple of potato and pea samosas. The Waterside Bakery were selling. I had a nice chat about levain. As I type, I'm nibbling the loaf with some amazing Greek olive oil (small scale, local guy, Greek connections) and Maldon sea salt. Diet temporarily suspended. So what? I've lost 20kg.

Drove out to a Parcelforce depot to pick up a guinea rabbit run. Having checked Google Maps, went cross country. Discovered some amazing countryside, not five minutes from home, that I'd no idea was there!

Came home. Packed for Swedeland (smiley - somersault) Mowed lawn. Cut hedge. Turned compost. Made headway into the ironing mountain. C took Sophie and Emil to http://www.glenlee.co.uk/newsite/ to pay for his forthcoming birthday party.

Sorted out some paperwork. Came across the Driving Licence renewal (Medical - me being a loony) that I'd lost. Discovered that I'm not meant to have driven since 3rd May. smiley - blush

Since suddenly car-less...walked to local Kurdish-run place to buy tarka dhal and chapattis.

After dhal (and samosas smiley - drool), made something amazing:
When Indians and Pakistanis emigrate to the UK or USA, they become homesick and cast around for comfort food. Eventually, they settle on cornflakes or rice crispies But they don't eat them with milk Hoooh No. Here'show I did them:
In a bowl, mix a couple of handfuls of rice crispies with:
Some diced onion;
Some torn/ shredded coriander;
Some chaat masala (or salt + cumin - but not as good)
A few shreds of green chilli.
Mix upo with a couple of spoons of tamarind pulp (soak tamarind block in a little hot water and pass through a sieve). I guess you could even use HP sauce if desperate.

Enjoy! I am.

>>Even Winehouse has her place.

Cardboard box behind the dumpster? smiley - winkeye Sad how she went from Winebar to Winelake. But she is sorting herself out, it's said.

Kate Nash makes me want to hurt people, but Lily Allen... do like her, can't justify why. I've rewritten a verse of hers, from "LDN"

"There's a dirty old tramp all smelly and damp
and brandishing a bottle of cider
There's Arabs in the park plotting something really dark
I believe that is called Al-Qaeda."

Duffy, now there's a set of lungs.

Yeah...except that Duffy doesn't know what to do with her lungs. She has nothing even resembling Soul. Looks well nice, mind.

Years ago, I was browsing the World section in Virgin, Oxford St. I saw they had a casette (which tells you how long ago this was) of Najma Akhtar (google her!). An assistant rushed up and said,
'Isn't she good?!'
I said something that ever since I've realised is trite:
'Yeah - I like her voice.'
He gave me a pitying look.
'Oh, sure. There's lots of people around with good voices. But not many of them know how to *sing*'
smiley - cool
