Salads, scares and bears
psychocandy-moderation team leader Started conversation May 20, 2006
My kitchen is the most fun room in the house.
Don't get me wrong- I love the living area as well, and it really looks nice these days. But my kitchen is still a really fun place to be. Especially since we got the orange/green/yellow striped placemats and the big snake plant to add some color to the room (which is primarily black and white, with wood flooring).
Last Sunday I woke up at the butt crack of dawn and baked two rhubarb/strawberry pies. Today I made a lovely pasta salad of organic tri-color radiatore, sweet red pepper (those long, skinny ones), broccoli florets, black olives, navy beans and some Italian kidney-type beans, diced Roma tomatoes, Balsamic vinaigrette, and freshly grated Romano and Parmesan cheeses. It's meant to be available for lunches during the week if needed. I don't know if it'll last that long...
It seems like most of my free time these days is spent either in my kitchen, whipping up some culinary extravaganza, or plopped in front of the DVD player. We watched "Saw", "Bloody Sunday" and "Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies". Need I mention that the last one was a little dumb?
Oh, and on a completely different tangent- with some money I got for my birthday, I got myself one of these: http://www.teddyscares.com/product.shtml. I got myself Redmond Gore. The smaller, six-inch bears come in little body bags, which is pretty cool, but the 12-inch ones are "nicer".

And now for something REALLY scary... Herman has vomited AND had diarrhea (on the wall?) this morning. He's been cleaned. He is growling and hissing. And very wet. Dumbass cat.

I want to see that last movie you mentioned now. Just for the title!

I think they're all pretty sweet. Wish I could have them all.
I don't think any of you have ever posted to the original "psychocandy" LiveJournal, which I have deleted as of this morning. The LiveJournal you all have posted to recently is active. Just wanted to say something here just in case I'd emailed anyone both links.
I'd made the original journal public, and some weird guy posted there. I guess you get that sometimes.
Not that y'all aren't a little weird, just in a nice way.

Weird??????
US??????
We are the epitome of normality. The psychiatric service bases its definition of "totally normal" upon our mental state.
Just to prove it, i have spent today tidying upstairs. The cast off snakeskin is hanging nicely from the lobster shell, next to the red feather boa & i have sorted the bones by size & species.
(Snaily: are the jawbones or goat?)
PC, your little with no tail is in the box marked "silly things" along with Yaels beaded , hope that's Ok?

Of course it's OK that it's in the silly box!
I don't have skins or bones and I'm probably not too likely to find any for you. But I will keep looking for silly bits and bobs.
As much as I tease you all for being delightfully weird (and people seem to think I am, too), it's true that in reality, you all are as normal as normal gets. I don't mean to insult anyone by saying they're weird- I hope you all know it's a term of affection.

Ah yes!!! You did mention going to a gig last night. You've been having us on haven't you? Really, you are the lead singer in that group that won the Eurovision Song Contest last night:

Eeek. How unhygienic!
Mind you, transatlantic drooling is a dying art. Probably the BBC could be persuaded to do a documentary programme, combining PC salads & Gothly drooling...the bind moggles.

I'm very flattered- Gothly appears to have excellent taste. Wish I could whip up a transatlantic salad sometimes- I always make too much for two people. Sometimes too much for us to both eat in a week.
I'm itching to see the Series 2 Teddy Scares when they're released in June. Redmond Gore is pretty darn cute. He's sitting on the dowry under the dining room window, next to the One-Eyed-One-Horned-Flying-Purple-People-Eater.
