Let's assume it's true. Nevertheless, my own reaction at the statements is anger. How d'ya reckon it's playing in the middle east? Is the US government the enemy's best recruiting sargeant?

It sickens me to read about the ongoing travesties at Guantanamo. I can't even begin to imagine how pissed off it must make people in the Middle East.

Of course the US government's foreign policy is definitely giving the "enemy" a helluva lot of incentive. And I wonder if that's one of their strategies: keep 'em pissed off so they'll keep fighting, and we can continue to justify the butchery and abuse.
