FEMA plans to reimburse religious groups

The moral majority have their hands out for government subsidies once again. I think this is just so disheartening: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9495550/

Once again, my tax money has to go to pay for religious indoctrination?

"Benham said that his group has been dispensing food and clothing and that "Bibles and tracts go out with everything we put out." In Mendenhall, La., he said, he preached to evacuees while the mayor directed traffic and the sheriff put inmates from the county jail to work handing out supplies."

I understand that this was a large scale disaster. I understand that faith-based groups stepped in and helped- but federal money should in no way be used to support their efforts. Religious organizations need to rely on private donations. Under no circumstances should the rest of us be forced to contribute to their agenda.

Thanks for that link, Edward. Even when I was still practicing christianity, I couldn't work my mind around how contradictory the Bible and the so-called divine edict to preach actually are.

As much as I hate being proselytized to, I like having to subsidize it even less. smiley - erm
