A proposal to put up a name-board next to a local recycling centre has just passed across my desk. The local green people feel, with some justification, that the public are more likely to recycle if the group of bottle banks has an 'official' name.
Now, I presume they must have been to meetings about this and thought long and hard about what they'd like to call it. Eventually, they must have settled on naming it after the pub in whose car park it was situated.
As a result, the village of Broughton, North Lincolnshire, now boasts a 'Dog & Rat Recycling Centre'
