Well, I'm a starting to get the hang of it. I forgot about this place for a few days. Now I've come back and it does seem to make sense then way its laid out. Click on your 'My Space' thing, and have instant access to all communications.
Yep, I like the 'One Brain Cell' moniker. Suits me fine The only problem with the farm at the moment is the really grotty weather we've been having. The house is on the side of a hill, and we have this gravelly track that's about a quarter of a mile long before you get to tarmac road. The heavy rain has cut REALLY deep grooves into the track. Gotta go out there once the rain's died down and get some shale into the ruts. Not the most fun job in the world!
Its very peaceful, yes, but I've also lived in town, and being miles away from anywhere can be really annoying when you just want to pop in for something.

Hi again,
Yeah its downright awful here. Rain every minute. The problem is that we've got a new sheepdog, she's called Maggie, only 2 months old now, and she's goinga bit stir crazy through all the inactivity on account o' this darned weather.
I try and keep her as occupied as possible, but Border Collie's need regular stimulation. I'm going to try and take her jogging with me as I really want to do the London Marathon next year.

Hi there OBC
Fancy meeting you in a place like this!
Border Collie eh! My very favourite dog. (old Meg is sitting at my feet at this very minute) As to exercise, I liked the story of an Australian Border Collie which went missing one day when its family were on holidays. The family spent the day searching but then had to leave to return to town. They found the dog waiting for them at home on the doorstep 300 hundred miles away, 24 hours after it had first been missed.
Speaking of "home" , a bunch of disgruntled and / or exiled Apple Discussion boards people may soon be descending on the Orchard, looking for a new place to stay! I'm doing a bit of scouting work here.
Cheers
Rod

Hi Rod,
Glad to see you here Yes it was a bit unfortunate with all the heavy handedness over at the Apple Discussions board. Its not something I've been rapped over the knuckles for, but I haven't been overly active there of late. This place is very nice, but I keep forgetting to come back on a regular basis.
I think that I will stay on over at the board for as long as I can, I like the place and it would be a shame to leave it, that is if I should ever recieve that nasy ban message then I would take my help elsewhere.
If you're still scouting, then I have some places that I visit from time to time. Perhaps the one I visit most frequently is 'Macfora'. Nick, Arron Stillman and probably a few others are there as well as myself.
Next, I visit the iMac.com. Its pretty slow over there, but it has some dedicated helpers and can be quite handy.
Every so often I will hed on over to MacGuru's, which is an excellent site, and the only reason I don't go there more often is my silly 'stuck in a rut' ways which makes me visit only a select few sites on a regular basis.
Macfixit.com I sometimes go to, but the text is very small there and I'm not crazy about the layout for some reason.
I love 'LowEndMac', and am a member of its iBook and Duo 2400 lists, the posts are delivered directly to your e-mail account.
Then of course there's the Orchard, which I really should come to more, but Macfora and the Apple Discussion Boards are occupying my time of late.
I am known as 'One Brain Cell' at all of them apart from 'the iMac.com' where I go my e-mail address of small_moose_ltd.
Young Mag is growing bigger all the time. I'm trying to teach her some basic skills (like 'sit), and so on, but she's still very young and crazy. She has far too much energy and can run all day.

Hi again,
Well, I can tell you that the weather ins't getting better on my side of the country. Still plenty of rain and general drudgery. The Sheepdog has taken to writing a novel to cope with the boredom. I said she should really start on some short stories, or an article or two for popular magazines but she wasn't standing for any of it. Beats chewing things I suppose, which is what she would be doing otherwise.
Have there been problems with this place? I wasn't aware. I think there was a page removed for some reason, but that's all I know.
Fortunately I already have a suntan despite the weather. I went to Romania recently on a working holiday, and it was boiling hot there. With any luck, and if I can get off my arse about it, I will try and write the thing up about the trip and paste it onto a website.
Hope you are well and that this place doesn't give you any more hassles

The best answer for a bored Border Collie (if you don't have any sheep for them to play with) , is to get some poultry . Our Meg loves rounding them (half a dozen hens - three light Sussex and three Australorpes) , sitting watching them, guarding them from the intrusions of passing ravens, foxes, motorbikes, etc etc.
Keeps her busy all day and keeps the chooks safe at the same time!
Cheers
