Does anyone know where I find the main page for different 'boards' I could say!

If you mean the front page of different communities and messageboards, you'll find a list of 'em at A785315.
If you're looking within h2g2, I'd suggest you start with <./>Askh2g2</.>. Click on the names of people you find interesting, and then go through the conversations they're subscribed to. Thus will you discover other areas of the site.
Most ACEs also have a list of handy links in their welcome messages.
Also, <./>browse</.> the Guide. Interesting articles often give rise to interesting conversations.
