Fear is a Man's Best Friend

Finesse, skill, dogged determination and even bravery seem to be the main influences when selecting favourite football moments and goals. What about fear ?
Wolverhampton Wanderers, definite underdogs, were playing the highly-rated Nottingham Forest at Wembley in a League Cup final.
A hopeless long ball was pumped towards Forest's penalty area from the Wolves' half. David Needham, Forest's physically imposing centre waited to head the ball clear. Behind him stood Peter Shilton, at the top of his form, guarding the Forest goal.
From the halfway line, Andy Gray charged towards the ball. Needham caught a glimpse of him out of the corner of his eye and seemed to almost freeze. Shilton unaccountably rushed forward. The ball arrived, Needham hardly got of the ground. The ball looped of the top of his head over the advancing Shilton.
Andy Gray charged on, past the both of them and gently stroked the ball into the empty net from two yards.
A goal the likes of which are faw fewer than fancy free-kicks from 100 metres.
