On a more interesting note, Josh, I think that the question should be: Why don't they pay dairy farmers a lot of money to act uncivilized (an easy thing to do, don't you agree?), just so they can do a special on "The Cows of the Serengetti"? Do I foresee a lawsuit in our collective future?

You need to go back to Square One on this. The views you dismiss as those of "some lunatics" have now been shown to have a lot of credibility. They may even represent the current majority opinion of serious scholars. If the "hoax of the hoax" theory is correct, there is a far more plausible motive than discrediting National Geographic, namely the acquisition of 45,000 acres of prime forest land.
The validity of the Tasaday is still very much an open question. Even those who doubt the original claims no longer consider the matter a deliberate hoax. Do a little more research, and this will be a much better article.
