h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

My name is Feisor and I too am an ACE (Assistant Community Editor) at h2g2, (there are lots of us)

Just thought that I would pop in and add that if you would like to give yourself a name (numbers can be a little impersonal - and hard to remember ) you can do so by hitting the "preferences" button on your screen. If you are viewing in "goo" (dark blue background) the button is at the left hand side nestled in the goo - don't know where it is in alabaster (white background) cause I'm a goo fan - but I am sure that you will find it there somewhere

I know that you have been offered lots of help - you might also like to look at the page I have made - it's a "Hints and Links for New Researchers" page at <./>A719840</.> - if you go there it will lead you to all sorts of places which will help find your way around and get to know this wonderful place

thanx you, but i know most of this. my mum goes on it all the time (on the tv) and can't watch the tv!! boo hoo!! so i watch my mum.

This looks like fun, your mum uses H2G2 already and you want to turn her into a robot this should be interesting, do we now have to guess who your mum is by figuring out which one of us has just started writing like a machine?

Oh and by the way, welcome anyway....

ooooooh..you fibber alex....i'm not on here all the time!..it just seems like it....&..if you spend so much time watching me..you know i have to keep asking for help....(useless as a chocolate teapot)..hi whisky..i've got a problem with loggin alex on..(he registered through a friends pc)..i've asked 'feedback' for advice..but don't understand they're reply....what does IE mean?..

IE - Internet Explorer. It's the most common programme used to connect to the internet using a PC, there are others but usually if you're using Windows and haven't gone out and paid for a seperate programme you'll be using Internet Explorer. Mind you, I've no idea how things work with tv access to the internet.

Could you try to explain, step by step, what happens when you connect to H2G2 - right from the beginning, from turning on your TV set? I don't know the system you're using, but we might be able to figure something out...

hi whisky..i've just replied to ur request about cable tv users..as i've said there..i log on via 'magic email'..even asking the person that sent me the email to send it to alexs email address didn't work..it still said 'welcome back emmily'..this is a 'banging your haed against a brick wall' problem..it can't be solved..

i've thought of 1 more thing i can do..it's a bit drastic..i could try phoning telewest and ask them to delete all my email memory..don't know if they can..or how that would affect this site or other sites..i need the time macine....
