Hi Seraphina, happened upon your space as you're one of Jonathon's friends. I've noticed a Wiccan tendency amonst this crowd which takes me back to my student/hippy/free festival days. I certainly flirted with magic for a while (especially candle magic) and have still got my original Tarot deck - a battered Swiss 1JJ pack which has had a lot of handling - I never believed in not letting other people touch my set and was always turned off by pristine sets of cards that had no 'vibes'.
I seem like a pretty 'straight' guy nowadays but this is definately not the case as I regard my forays into the 'straight' world as a shamanic quest and always return to my spiritual roots.
I don't know if you have a particular card that you identify with. Mine is the Queen of Wands, or it used to be. I have not given it much thought lately. Maybe I will now though.
Hope to hear from you, Jakell

Hi..
?
I can't say I've really though about a card I really identify with yet..though I do always seem drawn to the high priestess and the empress.. but then being a mother and psychic I guess thats understandable!

The Queen of Wands kept cropping up as the central card in a few spreads that were done for me , so I investigated a bit further and discovered she was a fairly cool character and that she would be good for me. I'm pretty poor on the Tarot nowadays, but I recall that she is almost Identical to the Empress, but a little more aproachable (she is the lower arcana after all, and less royal)
When doing readings I always stuck to the upper arcana (less cards, nicer pictures, but all of life is there nonetheless), and so am naturally more familiar with those cards.
Cheers, Jakell.

You can do readings with just the major arcana, but they tend to be a little 'bland' i feel..the minor cards add the small details and trivialities that add the colour n make it more personal..

I stuck with the upper arcana out of laziness really. I found it daunting to learn the whole pack and hated having to refer to a book whilst doing a reading. It felt a bit like using a phrase book in a foreign land; spoils the conversation a bit.
Where are you from Seraphina?

I kno what you mean..I try to go more with my instinct about a card than the book meaning.
I'm in Surrey

Have just been to check my map of England. Took me ages to find Surrey as it's quite close to London. I'm a born again Notherner, Born in Barnsley but have spent a fair bit of time living in Cornwall. Have now returned to my roots and live in Sheffield.
Is Bracknell in Surrey. My brother has just moved to Exeter from there having lived there for years.
How old are your kid(s)?

My Geography is pretty good as I've done a fair bit of touring in Britain - by bicycle when young and more recently by motorcycle, but the south-east is a bit of a mystery to me. I'm good on the South-west though.
I salute you for having children at all, I find the responsibility a bit scary, even though the rewards are great.
