Thank you for your kind welcome - it made me feel very good. Nice to know there are outreaching folks in unknown turf. Could you please direct me to a place that is involved with environmental concerns? Anything that specifically concentrates on forests would be great but anything in the general area of ecological issues is also good. I've found that many excellent connections can be made - and I truly am in great need of help. As an aside, are you a member of PETA (People for th the Ethical Treatment of Animals)?

Hi Kittykat
Ecological issues; I dropped over onto the message boards at Pegasus's request, you've been having problems with the woodland around your house? (Hope you don't mind me spotting this, I just thought, 'God, some people' - and remembered it) Have you managed to control the situation now?
Take a look at our'sister' DNA Community :
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/360/360/
DNA is concerned with creating a 'Book of Solutions' to drive projects forward in order to improve the world and the environment. It's a really fantastic idea, and we're hoping to be able to action some of the projects in real life; it's an ongoing pro-active project that people can really get involved in; it's not just a discussion area.
The project is being run by a number of members of the h2g2 team, including myself, so if you have questions please do ask here on h2g2, or over on 360. The team would love it if you posted over there, because the project has only just launched and it's still a bit quiet over there.
Hope this helps, best wishes, Peta
PS. I'm not associated with PETA the organisation; Peta just happens to be my real name!

Hi again,
Two more places for you on h2g2.
You could visit John The Gardener, who is a lovely bloke living in Canada. He's written lots of ecology based entries for the Guide and just a lovely guy.
You'll find Johns Personal Space over at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/U33262
Browse through the categorisation system. This is a link to the 'Ecology and Environment' section and read some of the Official Edited Guide Entries on the subject!

Hope that helps!
