Indeed it is just that.

I used to show my housemates this trick, over and over again. I couldn't believe that they didn't 'see' how it was done.

I even reached that stage of starting the trick by waving the deck at them with the bottom card in their face, and saying "Now watch this very carefully". Still they didn't figure it out ...

lol It's truely one of the greatest feelings in the world:
When people can't figure out your trick, even after
you've showed it several times. And you tell them that
you won't give them the solution because it's so eazy
to figure it out, and if they were a bit smarter they too
could figure it out.
It irritates them to their bones.
