While I really enjoy reading and thinking about this particular area of the law, writing a coherent answer to the question I have been posed is becoming increasingly difficult. I want to wander off to discuss interesting things like the implications posed by MP3 for the music industry or the implications for privacy which really has nothing to do with IPR's but if may if they try to introduce individual billing systems to replace the current means fo rewarding creators of original works...but I *don't* want to examine recent international initiatives such as the WIPO treaty or various European directives and the implications for the CDPA 1988...it's just no fun. And it's making me dizzy, though that could be the caffeine/blood cocktail whizzing through my veins.
