The love of my life recently gave me a small 
. Actually, she (the , not the love of my life -he is a he) is light pink and black, but you get the idea. She is currently hanging from my computer desk lamp. She seems a bit fragile so I'm not sure that I want to use her for her intended use -a keychain.
I do, however, want to name her. Does anyone have any ideas?

Are you sure it is definatly a 'she'?
If it was a boy fish I would suggest Norman.
Perhaps Gabrielle would be an unusual name for a she fish but I'm not very good with girls names (hence the fact that my daughter is one of three girls in her class of 15 with the same first name!)

How can you tell if its a She? (The fish, obviously, not your daughter 6!) Is there a way of telling, or does she just swim about in a particulaly feminine way?
I suggest 'Felicity', because I am of the deep opinion that all animals names should start with the same letter as there species.
'Hannibal, Hazel & Hamish' were the names of my hamsters

I'm pretty sure the is female. She is very feminine looking and not just because of her colour.
I really like the name Gabrielle. It's beautiful! I'll just wait to see if I get a few other suggestions before I make my final decision.

She keeps her nose in the air, leading me to believe that she's a very proper and lady-like fish.
I like the idea of the staring the name with "F," Peej, but 'Felicity' reminds me of a terrible American TV show about a young woman (Felicity) who chooses her university on the sole basis that the bloke she had a crush on all through high school is going there. Needless to say, it's a pretty vacuous show.
"Fiona" on the other hand is definately a possibility!

How about 'Tara'
Bear with me, there's a link here...
'Fish' is a very tall singer / songwriter from Scotland, known mainly for being the lead singer in Marillian years ago. These days he's writing / performing on his own, and if you ever get chance to go see him, then do it 'cos he's one of the best live performers I've ever seen.
He has a daughter, 'Tara'.
( Okay, doesn't start with 'F', but hey... )

Well- U2 put out a song called "Europa" a few years ago, so that's a link to an old rock band.
Not too sure about "Euro Fish" though- I think I've got too many "Euro" things going on these days with my thesis and two other papers that I'm presenting at conferences.
I'll probably end up giving it a name and then calling it 'Fish' anyway- I'm like that.
Soooo...the choices so far are 6's "Gabrielle," Peej's "Tara" (a good name for a lady-like fish), and my "Fiona."
Shall we take a vote?

In a complete change of heart I'll vote for Fiona (only because it's much easier to spell, and I don't know anyond horrid called Fiona.)
