Well, here I am. Finally added to the long list of worthies who have contributed to the edifice that is the Guide. Having got here, I am really not sure what to do except surf and lurk a bit. Actually, H2G2 may take over as my therapy. Believe me I need therapy.
Actually, I've had quite an exciting day. I am preparing to go off to Dhaka on Friday for a week to work on a project I have been involved with for four years now. Then someone from the UN phoned me from New York and asked me if I would go to Belgrade for two weeks in March. Mmm... Beats sitting around in my office.
Please contact me. I'd be happy to talk to anyone. Well almost anyone. Come to think of it, what am I doing? You could be anyone? Waaahhh...........

Hello Dr Zylatburger,
Just to let you know that you have been heard! This community is very active, very friendly, and there is a lot to do - if you want to lurk, it's just the place to do so, but there is also a very active section - Peer Review, (which attracted me here in the first place) where people write entries on things that interest them and other people then rip the entries apart, sorry, constructively review them . Successfully navigating Peer Review means that you get your entry listed as an official part of the guide. Both activities (writing and reviewing) can be highly enjoyable.
There's also the Ask H2G2 section where you can ask or answer any stupid question that comes to mind, and in my experience, the stupider, the better. In my experience, you can make a comment on just about anything around here.
Me? Well I just like having an online space, of sorts, to empty my musings into online. You seem to be involved in a lot of travelling, so I imaging you also will have plenty of such musings!
Well, it's time to go - I better leave before an "Ace" catches me! (Aces are those users whose job it is to welcome newcomers - I might be doing someone out of a job here!)
Take it easy,
Woodpigeon
