a) Well, it all started when one of the Powers That Be, Shim, had a special blue fish. All we could use was this yellow one : . Due to all the fish references in HHGTTG, and because we love starting protests, Madmunk and I decided individual fish would have to be created. Thus the moster was born.
b) And so as this monster grew, he also spread like wildfire... it now, I suppose, is used a personal stamp. Many people have created their own, but I still get people asking me for one, whether it be because they haven't the time to do it themselves, or it's just tradition, or that 'Fenny touch'. I really don't know. It's just a nice, fun thing I like to do for people (to avoid doing actual work and feel good about it). Would you like a fish?
c) This seahorse question has confused and bothered many. The males are males, yet they carry and bear the young. Why? Who knows? If you think about it, with all the possible genetic combinations available in the world, such oddities would be expected to be more common. There are, of course, even odder examples: The Australian wrasse fish is one. When the male of the troope dies, the dominant female actually SWITCHES GENDERS and becomes the new male. Slugs and some forms of snails are both genders, one set of organs on each end. If it weren't for problems concerning the automatic abortion of genetic clones, they could reproduce with themselves. But I digress... my only explanation is that they're a freak of evolution, just like everything else, only that they happened to be one of the only sucessful gene combos that progressed in such a manner that the male would give birth.
Fenny. They don't call me "lady of the fish" for nuthin'.
