aaaaand i was wondering... havent installed it yet and i read about some sort of glitch with QT...

...will my version 7.1.6 unpaid have the same problem QT preview vs4 did? (the solution was installing that with authoring enabled.) can i do that unpaid? or is it a moot question this far down the version line?








the reason i am asking this before i install it is because haha i installed windows media player for mac a few days ago in order to play my wma files.... didnt like the quality.... found Switch, a program to change wma to mp3, and now wmp wont let me uninstall it.... says it is locked arrrrrgh went to the site where i got it... no help files i could find on it... no search or ask tech for it either... argggghhhhh i want that monster off of my precious darling mac

To unlock WMP select it and press Cmd+I. the file info window should appear. In the 'general' section it should tell you the type of file size date modified etc then the label colour and then a check box with the word 'locked' next to it. make sure that this is unchecked.

wow... that worked... getting that file info window open... and the locked checkbox was unchecked... i checked it and unchecked it just to be sure.... went and got the wmp file, put it in trash and when i went to empty it... got a little window that said such and such part of wmp was locked... there are over 500 of these parts to the wmp installation i know i watched them go in haha.....

now what? the mac shop i bought it from?

Hmm, just tried it on my PBook and it deleted fine even with stuff locked...have you restarted your mac recently? It may help

nope... i seem to be outa luck here.... guess i need one of the techs at my mac store to get rid of it

Try holding down the option key when you empty the trash. That will often override the "locked" messages.

Don't know about Quicktime and Starship Titanic, it's been a long time and there's a lot of changes to the Mac OS and quicktime. Anything could happen. It's amazing that the web site is still there.
