Valentine's Day, 2003
Saturnine Started conversation Feb 14, 2003
Just kinda sat here staring blankly at the screen, wondering about a few things.
1) Phonecalls.
2) "Battle Royale" has finally come to FilmFour. Tonight at 10pm, so I cannot *wait* to watch that.
3) Poetry.
4) Employment.
5) Music - the new Zwan album is *so* good. Especially track 6.
6) What to have for dinner.
7) When I can afford to lighten the rest of my hair.
8) Stamps. Packages. What to put in it.
9) Whether to shut the window - it's a bit cold now.
10) Whether to log off and try to write, or do some vacuuming, or watch TV, or other "constructive" things.
*resumes staring blankly at the screen*

Don't spread it around too much. If too many people find out about it, it'll get all commercialized and we'll lose the true meaning of the day. Imagine if we suddenly had to give our loved ones Ferris Wheel Day candies, cards, and flowers, or take them out to Ferris Wheel Day dinners. People without significant others will have to spend Ferris Wheel Day alone while all the couples around them have a grand ole Ferris Wheel Day together.

Did you ever reach any conclusions?

One telephone in each house must be designated as the holiday telephone and be festooned with tinsel. Then everyone goes out and buys another phone. Wot, you don't do that?

*pokes cl in the ribs*
Nope.
Stealth, nah I didn't. It's all been crazily running 'round my head today. Not really stuck to one thought all day...

Sat, do you have any idea of how much Americans make fun of Canadians? I think it should be named America's second national pastime, after baseball.

Yes, I've heard *Mexicans in Wool Sweaters*, *Cheeseheads*, *Canuckistan*, etc. All part of the good ol' US of A's rich heritage of cultural imperialism and simultaneous isolationism. 'Cause their way is the only way, doncha know!

"Cheeseheads"? That's Wisconsin, not Canada.
"Canukistan." That's a new one to me.
Don't make us come up there and flood your country with Starbucks franchises! Oh, wait...

Too late, remember I'm just an hour or two from Seattle.
*Cheeseheads* is local, when the US dollar was within striking distance of the loonie your dairy products were cheaper because there is no Dairy Board with it's regs and standards. We flooded over the border and bought cheese by the ton apparently.
*Canuckistan* was what we were called by the New Republic for daring to not support King George II in his quest against the Saddam.
Various others are usually about the fact that we are a Socialist Democrasy and have few enemies.

Well, then they should call the house I live in "Wampistan" because we don't support King George the Slow's crusade, either. I can't imagine how they got 60% of Americans to support such a blatant act of aggression. I guess there are a lot of gullible Americans around.
But anyway...
