Job section. Not depressed (yet) as there's a job that thanks to everyone on here, I be reckoning I can do. All it needs is a) good keyboard skills. And b) comfortable on the telephone. Now being that it is for yell.com and it's obviously for answering customer enquiries...I shall be applying for it. Tomorrow though, not today. I'm not *that* confident.

Got to keep scouring though. One is not good enough.

Must be positive. Must be positive.

smiley - ok.. I had an interview for a position similar to that yesterday, although a little more complex (a weird combination of technical support, order fulfilment and call routing. smiley - erm); you'll be fine! smiley - biggrin.. just as long as you smile, don't sound (overly) nervous, and have the skills that they want. smiley - winkeye

If I were you, though, I really would sign on with a job agency; most jobs go through them. You're not obliged to doing anything, but they'll test you for data entry, etc, and (should) have many different jobs that they'll consider you for. *nods sagely*..

I'll be quiet now. smiley - biggrinsmiley - hug

I am feeling strangely optimistic today. Think it's the change of image.

Ok. So smiley - erm when I ring them tomorrow, they'll give me an interview date? Or an application form? And then I'll get dressed in my nice burgundy skirt and boots and shirt and coat, and toddle down there...

Oh bother. It gets boring after a while.

I still have lung pains.

When you ring tomorrow, they'll probably ask you a little about yourself, so be prepared to answer questions. That and/or they may ask for a CV, so if it's not too much hassle, you might want to get something ready to e-mail them (if you don't have access to a computer and you're desperate, you can always type up what you've done / what qualifications you have and send it me; I'll format and send it them, if you give me an e-mail address). They may give you an application form; some jobs do. Or they might ask you to come in and talk to them. smiley - biggrin

It gets so same-y after a while. Saying the same stuff over and over and over and over and over. Makes me want to puke.

And I *hate* application forms. smiley - laugh

Oh well. I can forget about it until tomorrow. Hopefully they'll just talk to me on the phone for a while, then give me an interview date and then the job. If life were that simple...smiley - tongueout At least they aren't demanding experience - offering full training - just keyboard akills and good telephone manner.

AAAAaaargh,,,

Why oh why oh why oh why. Such a hassle, is life.

So did yours go OK??

That's one good thing about going through an agency - you usually only get interviewed the once by them - but you still have access to loads of jobs. (Or it worked like that about 20 years ago when I did it.)

Well, the job I was interviewed for yesterday was via an agency. And I've worked for the company I was being interviewed for before, as well. (I was being interviewed by the person that signed the invoices for my pay, would you believe). Although that is the first agency work I've ever been interviewed for; on the whole, agencies just send your CVs to prospective clients (read: employers) and send you to them when they pick you out. smiley - erm

It's not in the advert. But I figure they are a big company - it won't be bad. And even £4 an hour would do me right now.

vegantoo just gave me details of a Buddhist colony working holiday...which sounds so smiley - cool...smiley - laugh So I'm going to get some more details on that.
