A new pair of trousers (that fit! Hooray for weight loss!) and Kerrang! stating that nu-metal is dead. Hooray, it won't be f**king missed...I'll just be keeping a few bands from that whole era...and none of them are new. On your way now...

Kerrang claims that nu-metal is dead?

Like they'd get rid of half their market like that...

Yeh. And like the kids would let that happen. But still, it's an entertaining thought. smiley - laugh

Please please please can nu-metal die.

Please can the little kids in pop metal band name hoodies go back to wearing kappa tracksuits.

Please can the radio go back to playing sh*tty pop, and not assaulting us with sh*tty pop metal.

Please can music shops get rid of their nu-metal section.

Please can I be proud of the clothes I wear and who i am again.

And most of all,

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can I have my scene back. The scene used to be so great, and so strong, and such a bond of community. And it has been destroyed by the sh*ts.

D'you know what Bob? Couldn't have said it better myself. I want to go back to seeing more Manson and Nirvana t-shirts at gigs than Linkin Park. I want to be able to wear black nailvarnish again. I want to NOT see adidas tracksuits on the top floor of Onyx music. I want to not walk past Replay music and see Linkin Park tops come out of it. I want Superock back. I want Friday Night Rock show with Tommy Vance back. I WANT MTV2 DESTROYED!!! I want to be able to walk into a club and feel smiley - love and respect...not the horrible insular feeling that permeates everywhere. I want to be able to know everyone on sight, and for gigs to not sell out, and be able to dye/bleach my hair again and not feel like a cliche.

Bah. I hate it.

I remember, college green 97/98 or something. Literally for the whole summer there was a scene on college green. The whole thing covered in one big group who nearly all knew each other. Its where a lot of the scene thats left met each other...

Not like these days when its covered in about a million little kids, all in separate groups, all lookign down on the ones around them.

I've been told by a few people that Im the original College greener...

I wasn't a part of that, but I know quite a few people who were. I started off in the scene with absolutely no friends (as seems to be my way) I had to go to college on the other side of Bristol to do that. When we went to the 'Keller, I realised how far I have actually come since then...smiley - sigh I've spent the last two years just hoping that the scene is gonna recover from it all.

I meant to tell you this earlier. If you are home/free at the time, flick over to Newround at 5:20 on BBC1...you will alternately die and p*ss yourself laughing...

So what happens to me today?

I go shopping for a french stick, and I get 'He was a skater boy' sang at me by the 11 year old sh*ts outside Broadwalk. I mean, associating me with that song p*ssed me right off. I didnt do anything about it, i was too confused. If theyd have shouted 'jitter' like in the old days I wouldnt have been like that.

And then I watch the Newsround thing...

Its not just metal, every 11 yr old feels they have to be part of some distinctive group these days, no-one is just themselves. Im a goth!!! My god kid, why does your mum let you out like that? Its like little girls parading around in short skirts and make-up, kids are being forced by the media to grow up so much quicker these days, and they dont walk the path because they want to, they walk it 'to fit in' or to 'be cool'. Those kids are gonna be thinking back in years to come, 'what was I thinking?' But people like us will still be there, realness doesnt go away.

Oh good lordy. I was just shouting at the TV. They couldn't have got it MORE WRONG if they tried!!!

Since when were A, and InMe, nu-metal? Come to think of it, when was Blink 182 and the Offspring anything other than somewhere around the punk genre?

AND! When the f**k was Slipknot and Staind goth?????? I know the eternal debate about whether Manson is goth...but f**k me...

The only salvation in that programme was seeing Wednesday and Joey (Murderdolls) and thinking..."I squeezed their a**es..."

I think I am going to have to batter them all with a f**king stick. What the f**k has happened to our culture??? I made it my New Years resolution to glare at all of the obvious wannabe's when I pass them on the street. C**t-f**ks.

(I thought it wise not to start on the Avril Lavigne thing. I might end up breaking my keyboard)

Of course slipknot are goth, it gives the kids an excuse to wear make-up at inappropriate times. (Any make-up wearing goths I have ever known have only done so going out)

*mentally batters a bunch of kids*

This has brought too much aggression out of me. I've spent all evening swearing like a nutter.

As far as I'm concerned, being *goth* isn't even about makeup...I look like bloody Bauhaus compared to that kid.
