I hate classifications of music...especially the word/title/description *hardcore*...
I mean. I have nothing against bands LIKE Sick of it All. When "The District" video came out, I liked it & thought *hmm. I should purchase this band* (Then I found out they have a back catalogue to equal Cliff Richard in terms of quality and got scared). But then...there are loads of other bands/individuals that misuse the term and make me wonder - "what is hardcore?"
So this leads me to declare a boycott on all titles to describe musical band things except for *sh*te* and *amazing*...
Saves a lot of hassle and argument. People's tastes are so varied, no one will ever agree about music.
Ooh. And albums out this year that I am looking forwards to :
Zwan, Tapeworm, NIN, Deftones (still need their back catalogue, any offers?), Marilyn Manson, Ministry, A Perfect Circle, Mad Capsule Markets...
I'm *hope* My Ruin release something. I know they did the special-Brit-Live-album...but it's still been a while...
I'm also betting that Linkin Park's second album is going to divebomb...HA HA HA!

That's a point. I still have to send you an email of allllll of my lacking music thingys...
Ooh. Look at the verbosity!

Well, being the dry old f@rt I am I only know six of the groups/people mentioned and unfortunately one is Cliff Richards

Sick Of it All is a New York based *hardcore* () band...
Tapeworm is the side project of Maynard J. Keenan from TOOL (the bloke that sings) and Trent Reznor from NIN and a few others.
Ministry is an industrial band.
A Perfect Circle is the other side project of Maynard. Also features Paz who plays bass in Zwan which is Billy Corgan's (Smashing Pumpkins) new band.
Mad Capsule Markets are an electronic-punk-metal band from Japan. They *barely* speak English...
That help?

Well...good as Tool sounds, on their last album, every song sounded pretty much the same. At least, all the ones I've heard. I'd say it's good to let the creativity build up for a while, so they can have some new and interesting things on their next album, whenever that will be.
I saw the Lateralus (sp?) video on MTV a few times...weirdest thing I've ever seen.
