Bongos are not a good way to create atmosphere in a room!

Perhaps I'm just a bit uptight! smiley - smiley

No, I can't play them.

I can accept them as part of a band but I have a strange aversion to them otherwise. I'm very laid back in other respects! Its just if I'm in a room where someone is sat playing bongos I get an inclination to leave! Should I be worried?

Not at all! Of course it all depends on how good the bongo player is. Personally I play the bodhran, and sometimes lose track of time while playing it, however I wouldn't subject anyone else to it as it would probably drive them bonkers after a while. Have you considered learning to play yourself? A group of people all drumming can be a very uplifting experience, rythm patterns seem to come and go of their own accord and sometimes people just get up and dance for the fun of it. ( very tribal but great fun ) I have always wanted to set up a drumming circle, just to see what would happen.
