Today has been the most boring day of my life. If it wasn't for the fact that I couldn't stay in bed all day, I think I would have stayed asleep and missed the whole thing.
It's not that I couldn't find something to do, it's just that all the things I wanted to do cost money, and at the moment, I'm broke.
Why do none of the good things in life come for free? OK, so there's that, but at the moment I'm single, so that's out of the question.
Life, at the moment, sucks, and there can only be one way left for it to progress, and that's upwards. I like to feel optimistic about something, but at times it's difficult.
Someone out there must feel the same, if your reading this, please tell me how you get out of this hellwhole of an existance.
Mark, uttery depressed and hating it.

Erm, since you posted this in May, this is possibly a little late, but here goes...
A couple of years ago, I too became overwhelmed with depression. I am also alone, and nothing I do seems to result in any thing positive. The situation got worse, until one day I ran into a brick wall, figuratively speaking; I wanted to kill myself.
Fortunately, my G.P. was able to help me, and my employers were very supportive. I had one unfortunate contact with a psychiatrist, who wish to shoot me so full of drugs I'd be a zombie, and send me for "a rest". I nixed that idea, of course.
Now, after a long struggle, I'm feeling much better. Still get ups and downs, of course, but better.
So, if your depression lasts, get to see your G.P., and Yes, it is an emergency if you feel that bad. If you CAN snap yourself out of it, then do anything you can to do it. There IS help, and you CAN beat it.
One thing that helped me was watching Red Dwarf, Blackadder, and of STAR TREK, the greatest series ever! It's not sad to be a Trek fan, no more than being a fan of anything else. Enjoy!
