Hey there sb!
I completely understand what you are saying about cold. I am a Canadian who moved to the warmest place I could find and still stay in Canada. 
I am also an amateur carpenter/plumber/electrician etc etc, so if there's anything you want to talk about, renovation or building-wise, I'm available.
Oh, and welcome to h2g2, the zaniest place in cyberspace

Hi Tal,
Personally I believe more in a life before death, but if one's prone to such beliefs as heaven and hell I agree with the vikings. Hell is not warm. It's cold. We've done the same thing, moved to the warmest place we could find and still live in Norway. I could very well live even further south, but there are other issues like family and work and such.. Maybe when we retire. 
And I DO feel welcome. And intimidated. I can see the proverbial sand running through the hourglass. With this kind of activity I'll be very short on time for other projects. At present the most important one is getting down new flooring in a couple of bedrooms. Christmas is closing in and we have to place guests somewhere.
