Well done you. "There's two kinds of people in the world - those that are sorting out their shit, and those that aren't"
It may be noting. It may be something. Is it maybe even a monthly girls thing? Whatever - there are people who can help. GPs - or since you're a student (so I see from stalking you're space), maybe your college's counseslling service.

Hi Emma!
(Waves to Ed)
The main thing is, you're no longer on your own with "whatever it is", you've been brave & reached out to others, on here & obviously to your BF also. That's really the biggest, bravest first step. From that point on, things get much more under control.
This is a very good site for being able to post your true feelings & know people will usually rally round & try to support you.
I'm going to "officially" ACE you! Don't worry, it doesn't hurt!!!

If he's no good...change doctors. It's important to have someone you feel comfortable with. These days they accept people changing as par for the course. Usually.
Temazepam, diazepam are OK for anxiety (I take diazepam when I have to) - but they're not antidepressants as such - nor mood stabilisers.

One more thought: You could try keeping a mood diary. Try and record 'incidents' - How you felt; Score it on a scale 1-10; Try and record the circumstances. That will give people - including you - something to work with.

Yes, that's a great idea! It really *does* help; you often look back & realise "Hey, yes, i felt like c*ap; but, hell, there were maybe good reasons to feel like that!"
But maybe sometimes we over-react too & then with hindsight you realise that.
For example, yesterday i got up all bright & sunny, thought "hmm; i shall make a nice breakfast for me & the "sorta-boyfriend" but i discovered some swine had stolen some of my plants from outside. So i went ultra ballistic, dragged the BF out of bed & screamed at him "But it's Not My Fault!", which it wasn't, but he was there so he got it in the neck. Hurled the rest of the plants across the street. BF not surprisingly fled, terrified that i might start hurling them at him.
So i went back to bed in a vile mood.
Woke up, thought "uh oh, that was way over the top." Phoned some friends, who kindly arrived, helped reinstate the plants & took me out for a pizza to cheer me up.
And today, i still feel murderous towards whatever sod nicked my plants *but* i managed to phone the friends to say thank you for putting up with me, plus phoned the BF to say "Sorry, i was way out of line; no, it wasn't your fault."
*sigh* i think those of us who are prone to extremes of mood eventually find some way to at least moderate them a bit, but there will always be times when & fuse blows & maybe we just have to accept that.
It does help to talk about it, especially with folk who have "been there, done that , got the Tshirt & ripped it up in a rage or depressed moment!"
