You could start by looking at what the <./>ACEs</.> do and what you need to know - though I think that you are probably a little young yet (in your hootoo age) - lots of links from the <./>ACE</.> Home Page 
You really need to know a fair bit about how the site ticks and stuff - so getting to know the place is a good start
