Yesterday I read much about methods of learning language. We can’t cut down a tree without a good axe. So I try to sharpen my axe.
I’ve read that it’s very useful to write diary in language you’re learning. So I decided to write this diary regularly. I’ll try to do this.

Just one letter again! Incredible...
Ira, imagine that you are going to learn a new language (Hausa for example). What would you start with?

Hi Alex,
I’m very glad to have time for speaking with you. You see, it’s not the problem to begin studying. But it’s real problem to keep in mind new words. I feel it’s not so easy as it was in youth. And the second serious problem is speaking. Like your daughter the daughter of mine said that in some way my pronunciation is wrong. She helps me sometime but she has a lack time. So I have to decide my problems myself. I try different methods of memorizing words and chose more useful for me. I’ve read that learning of whole texts is very useful. Frankly speaking, learning texts by heart is terrible for me. All my nature is against this method.
I try to read with announcer improve my pronunciation. You right, it’s to fast for me too. But I think it’s rather useful though rather funny. I can easily to read slowly, and when I read with announcer some parts of the text I can only moo. I wonder, what methods are more helpful for you.

Hello, Irina!
Sometimes I am also busy (including cooking, washing etc...)
I'll try to reply to every question. By the way, in this Board we may use cyrillic - I think it is allowed here. I will try now to write using cyrillic - do you see it properly?

so I may write here after the "Communicate" board is closed...

Hi Alex,
You are right, this board open twenty-four hours a day.
Yes, philology is my profession and my hobby in the same time. I've been learning English for an year and I have been studying philology for 25 years. I wonder, why you think, that Ukrainian is dead language. I agree with you in some way. Ukrainian is dieing nation, number of Ukrainians is diminishing, but it's rather long process. From this point of view our human society is dieing.
