I'm organising not one but two Birmingham meets, but you might have been able to tell that from my main page.

Thats very I signed up to be a donor when I got my provisional driving license..

The only problem is my beloved next of kin has already expressed their objection to it.. They understand the importance of being able to offer a second chance to another human being after my passing and how strongly I feel that I would like to contribute, but he says the thought of me not being 'whole' when the time comes to say goodbye really upsets him...

I do hope he changes his mind should (god forbid) he ever have to make that decision.

Anyway thats a bit morbid for you this early in the morning!

I think I'm already on it - I got sick of having to remember to carry a donor card around. Can I use that site to check, or does it only carry records of people who signed up online?

I went and signed up anyway, and it didn't recognise me. Under 16s can sign up as well, so I've signed up my son. I've spoken about it to him in the past and he's agreed it's a good idea. If something does happen to him, they are likely to contact me if I'm not with him anyway.

I already carry a donor card *and* informed my next of kin (very important) - I wouldn't take "No" for an answer, it's my body, my organs, my decision.

Those left behind should respect the wishes of the one gone before, regardless of their own feelings.

I'm going to sign my son up, same as Mina, above.

My older daughter & older son both carry donor cards. My second daughter emphatically doesn't want to donate anything, and I respect her wishes.
