Is this a serious attempt to get this into the Edited Guide? It really doesn't appear as such to me, and unless it is asserted to be such and backed up with some clever reasoning, I'm afraid I'll be forced to ask the moderators to move this thread...dreadfully sorry... hope you understand.

I've seen things shorter and less amusing in the edited guide. This one still has my vote.

Shorter things in the edited guide!?! Well.....I never..... it is really hard to imagine anything actually being shorter or less amusing...this is basically a restatement of a common cliche, with one very small twist.... I guess someone could pick it, but I've had *much* longer entries rejected by the editors for lack of content.... oh well....

The elegance of the theory proposed by this entry is evident in that all the speculation taking place in this thread can be classified under the third category.

First, this isn't a theory , its a cliche...

Second, no matter how clever a sentence is, it does not constitute an edited guide entry....

Third, the only "certainty" is that this thread is not long for peer review...
