h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

My name is Feisor and I too am an ACE (Assistant Community Editor) at h2g2, (there are lots of us)

Just thought that I would pop in and add that if you would like to give yourself a name (numbers can be a little impersonal - and hard to remember ) you can do so by hitting the "preferences" button on your screen. If you are viewing in "goo" (dark blue background) the button is at the left hand side nestled in the goo - don't know where it is in alabaster (white background) cause I'm a goo fan - but I am sure that you will find it there somewhere

You have joined h2g2 at a very sad time - please remember that this site is one which thrives on respect for others, and balanced, rational and considered discussion - we hope that all new researchers will treat everyone in the community with the respect that they expect for themselves.

I am sure that you will love this community as much as we do There's lots of things to see, clubs to join and people to meet - please don't be shy - just jump right in - this is a friendly place. But be careful - it can become quite addictive - believe me I know

Thanks ACE for yet another welcome, Everyone's been so friendly here i'm sure you're all nice people, how could you be otherwise.

Names I think are sometimes more trouble than they're worth, confuse the issue and a bit like clothes & looks, pre-configure a character. I think I'd almost prefer a number, in time I'll invite suggestions.

Of course in such times we need to be publicly especially respectful, taking care not to inadvertently twist the knife of grief. I'm sure privately however we all have received some sick jokes already. Isn't life strange? it always amazes me.
