The Troll Castle, really a Troll Campus, is a conglomeration of ugly buildings chewed out of the Central Texas countryside. The buildings are known as TC1, TC2, TC3, and so on. "TC," of course, stands for "Troll Castle." Access to Troll Castle is restricted to a single highway with man-eating pickups and no shoulders. This affords some protection from prying eyes. The approach to TC1 is further protected by a forbidding swamp. The swamp is fueled by sprinklers that run daily, rain or shine. The swamp is explained as an effort to make the desert bloom, or at least to bring forth a respectable lawn in the wilting Texas heat. But we who labor there know better. It is there to discourage outsiders. And insiders, too. Why else would the sprinklers run unabated during monsoon season? Huh? I think I saw an alligator there this morning! Adjoining the swamp is a large expanse of quicksand. "They" claim it is a volleyball court, but witnesses have seen Volkswagens disappear in there...

have you ever thought that this may just be a cunning way of keeping the slaves from escaping the castle? Sly lot, those trolls. Slightly more subtle than barbed wire and watchtowers. Of course, the 'gator was a trained watchgator, you just didn't realize it. Good job you didn't make a run for the drawbridge.
