Sorry it took so long to answer. Well, Prometeus was born out of a joke I was making to a friend of mine who had a page iside this H2g2 website (I started posting sort of anonymous messages,LOL).
She was just writing a story about religion and mithology and I was also reading a book of one of my favourite Italian writers, in which the main carachter was Prometeus, a guy who's job was estabilishing contacts with people. 2+2=4 and, considering my purpose was contacting my friend, I couldn't but be Prometeus...

the writer is Enrico Brizzi and the book is "Praise about Oscar Firmian and his impeccable style" or something like that. But I think the author is better known for his first book which was "Jack Frusciante left the band" (Jack Frusciante is the one of Red Hot Chili Peppers, of course). If you really want to read something, I'd suggest you to start with Jack Frusciante first, absolutely.
Well I'm not sure about these title translations at all cause I only know the Italian editions and I'd have to check about the English translations.
Anyway, the writer is brilliant. I must say most of the situations described are strongly linked to the Italian surroundings of the ninenties and the author plays a lot with some Italian slang and young people so one would lose something when reading a translation into another language.
Prometeus is a young journalist trying to contact the leader of a Rock Band. The book is all about his attempts to find this guy, his obvious problems with his editor who keeps him under economical pressures, some usual love affairs and a lot of irony, but I don't want to tell more details, of course...
