Because they're so easy to use, and so much more secure than PCs, and Apple are such a caring company.

So how come most Apple users I've had the joy to support didn't have the first clue about how to get connected to the interwebs, find out what OS they were using, etc...?

But Apple users are sooooo tech savvy, definitely moreso than PC users who just buy stuff without thinking about it and install any old rubbish which is why PCs have so many viruses and security holes all the time...

I look at it as the differences between people who prefer gated communities with deed restrictions and home owners associations vs. those who prefer unrestriced communities. The former don't mind paying more to feel more secure and knowing that their neighbors can't open a car lot or factory next to them. The latter accept some risks but don't want others telling them what they can or can't do with their property.
