Not if the caller was from Derbyshire. Duck is a non-sexist, non-ageist form of address there. Men call other men duck, regardless of age.

My friend was carrying his young daughter on his shoulders through a forest. They came to a low branch and he shouted "Duck!"
She replied "Quack, quack, Ouch!"

In my call centre days I had a guy who was shouting at me because we'd cut his cable TV off (he hadn't paid his bill in three months and didn't call to tell us). He was getting more irate whatever I said to him, but curiously enough he called me "ducky" throughout the call!

You, know, I kind of miss being called 'Babs' whenever I leave the West Midlands. Each to their own, I guess.
