My desk at work is the enemy of ergonomics. With sitting at this crap desk day after day, despite getting up regularly to stretch and stuff, I've pulled a muscle in my shoulder. Funnily enough, I share an office with the HSE advisor

Solution:
Thread a computer or phone cable surreptitiously along the bit of carpet where the door closes. When the HSE person gets up to go through the door, pull the cable tight and they'll trip over it. You can then point out how hazardous your office is and go home until they've fixed it. On full pay, naturellement.

I was thinking I could sue the council, actually. I almost fell my length on the un-gritted pavements on the way to work today. I *could* have hurt my shoulder if I'd gone down....
