...although I don't have half as much money as they do smiley - cross

Just been on t'internet buying some reusable cloth nappies and associated bits and bobs. I'm really pleased to see that the days of a simple square of terry cloth and a safety pin are gone, although you can still get them if you so wish - I don't! So we bought some swish ones made out of bamboo, believe it or not, some super cute rubber pants/wraps to go with them and paper liners what you can flush down the loo if the little darling makes too much of a mess.

The pram/buggy combo also came today, complete with some stylish accessories like a funky changing bag you can turn into a rucksack and stuff. It's sooo much fun buying all this stuff - and to think the family's paying for most of it smiley - biggrin

I'm not really here

Enjoy your spending spree! One of my SILs bought nearly all her baby clothes from ebay, because she was getting designer gear for hardly anything, and could sell it back for the same amount of money. smiley - biggrin

I loved buying prams. I only ever had one new one (when he was about 3), but J did usually have a choice of three every time we went out, and I must have 'updated' to a new second-hand model every six months or so. smiley - biggrin

I did like the terry nappies when I had J, because they lasted the whole time and I didn't have to buy more as he got bigger. Apparently they can now be bought second hand on ebay as well, so if I had another one (unlikely due to op next week) I'd probably look into that.

If we have a girl one of my friends has promised me a huge bag of baby clothes, but Ebay will be my friend too - as ever! We do have some new stuff though but personally second hand doesn't bother me, as long as it's in good nick. smiley - smiley

So am I allowed to ask on here what op you're getting next week? Nothing too serious I hope? smiley - erm

It's fine to ask - I'm going for a surgical method of contraception, so I won't be able to have any more children, ever. No more worrying! I first wanted it about 6 years ago, but they said I was too young, wasn't settled down, and J was only 6. So I tried again last year, and managed to convince first a GP to refer me, and then the consultant to go ahead. I'm really happy about it, although I expect the first thing that will happen will be me becoming extremely broody...

Most of J's clothes were second hand - I had two friends who'd had boy twins a couple of years previously, so my trouble was too much stuff!

Vestboy

We used terries with our eldest but converted to disposables when she was about a year old. You may want to buy a few disposables for travelling and similar events. Carrying poo filled packets for hours on end can dampen your enthusiasm.

Ahh! My mum had that - she's 47 and still gets broody but I'm sure you'll be fine smiley - smiley

Speaking of me ma, she started buying disposables before I asked her not to so I'm going to keep those for the nappy bag. But you can also get all -in-one reusable nappies that are perfect for using while out and about. They're about £15 each though so I think I'll just get a couple!
