A Passionate Tribute To My Professor

Post 1

Rafaela Felizia Mendes di Asturien

The incomparable professor of history, Dr. James M. Blythe, medievalist, leftist, luckily teaches at the University of Memphis. This is where I come into his class. This is where I conceive an infatuation for him. This is where I blush.

I didn't do as well as I should have in his class....he said that he felt I could do better, and that he expected more from me. True, I probably squandered my writing talent on short stories starring him as the romantic lead who seduces our heroine, or writing him passionate emails (with passion for him disguised as passionate rhetoric).

To describe him is not nearly as wonderful as seeing him in the flesh. It is not that he is conventionally handsome. It is the uniqueness, all of him put together just so: the lean frame not given over to a middle-aged spread, the wide, solemn face, the dark, graying, curly hair, the large blue eyes, covered by thick glasses.

However, since he is married, and my professor, I will never act on this. I do have my dreams, my fantasies, and stories, though. And that will have to suffice.
