Gnomon - time to move on

I've come across this in the Feng Shui entry:

But this is incorrect.

Since the design of the yin-yang is based on the sky, where the Yang part of the symbol is in the sky is near where the sun is during the summer, which has more warmth and sunlight. Likewise, the yin part of the symbol is where the winter, which has less sunlight falls. For every yin, there is said to be a yang, and vice versa, which keeps the universe balanced.

This seems confused to me. I'm not sure whether you wrote it or Jodan, but I would appreciate if you could reword it to something I can understand, so that I can correct the entry.
