kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013

I've just hd a cry over the end of the shuttle program, weird huh? And I couldn't understand why nobody else seems sad about it.

I've just realised why I was crying. When I think of the shuttle I m remembering Dad's excitement about the dawning of a new age of space travel. I remember him getting us to watch the first lift off on the telly and remember the books he had about it.

It is him I miss, not the shuttle.

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

It deffo is the end of an era... for now. At least we knew it was coming though. The Apollo missions just sort of, fizzled out.

Thnks for the hug Gosho.

Dad was so excited about new technology and he really thought the shuttle would be a step along the route to everyone being able to go into space. The end of the shuttle program has made me miss him more than anything else since he died on 25th May.

I wasn't born when the moon landings happened, so it was just a thing that we humans had done in the past but didn't do now, like all of the things we'd done before - it was great that it hd happened but it was history for me, rather than something contemporary and exciting; but the shuttle! The International Space Station! The Future!

Xanatic

It was indeed quite sad. I also saw today that one of the russian automatic thingies they use now for the ISS, failed and crashed. Apart from communication satellites, in 20 years we may have abandonded space entirely. Such a waste.
