h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

What the heck happened to h2g2 yesterday? I got home from my redundancy interview - the single worst experience of my life - and really needed some company, or a diversion or something to stop me crying all day, and h2g2 wasn't there! I felt very alone. This is the problem when you live in a different place to most of your close friends and your boyfriend works away from home - at times of crisis there is nobody else around.

Anyway, the interview essentially said I had to leave or I wouldn't get as good a package in the next compulsory round of redundancy. I felt awful and useless and incapable - even though they said it wasn't poor performance that led to my being asked to leave but instead they just had to get numbers down. I feel crushed right now and can't see what to do next.

I am sorry you had such a miserable day. I am not sure what the problem is as h2g2 was fine when I left, but I think there was a problem with the servers.

sorry to make you lose your space, i did write a guide to using biggreensmilie with a warning about locating your original name and password but when I posted it to biggreensmilie's space it must have not made it to the server. sorry again to cause confusion. I sometimes forget that some of us are new to this kind of thing and don't want people messing about with thier heads/settings.
