Hi emmalouise99,
Thanks for your project posting - excellent topic, which happens to be something I'm particularly interested in as well. Also, one of our programmers here at the Towers used to work in that area!
I'll add your project to the Science and Mathematics faculty page:

Really? Where was that? I'd love 2 carry on doing the GA thing when I finish my course but I have no idea where to even start looking for that kind of work.

It was with a Cambridge company called Cyberlife, who make the game 'Creatures', which is basically solid GAs. Pretty interesting stuff, and there's certainly a future in it. It's said that if anything's going to get close to a decent implementation of life in-silico, this is one of the main directions to look...
Where's your course based?

Wow! Cyberlife! I know creatures well and have a blueberry norn beanie that protects my monitor from evil juju.
I'm based in Birmingham at the moment. Moving to london soon but probably not for long as the job I was meant to be going for fell through. Still it gave me time to reassess my priorities and I've decided I want to persue what I'm currently doing so I'm applying for a couple of PhDs. Fingers Xed.

Hey - good luck with that.
Annoyingly, many 'blue-sky' IT companies are scared of hiring at the moment. Juuuust too risky and expensive in this climate...
