OK. So I'm interested. Where do you do this UFO stuff. Are there hotspots in the UK? I'm in West Yorkshire. Where could I go or what should I be looking for? I'm not a crank or a wind-up merchant. I do believe we are not alone if I can use that old cliche. Statistically we cannot be, but also statistically the chances of a race evolving to a level that gives them interstellar travel at speeds that they would still be alive at the end of it, well the odds are staggering. How about time travellers. That's just as probable.

Hotspots are excactly the thing.
some reasearchers (not connected to me) have returned to spots where they have witnessed odd stuff before. Some have taken succsesful time lapse photographs of objects moving across the sky, defying what we call our laws of physics. Unfortunately I am not Mr knowledge when it comes to hotspots, this is where hopefully H2G2 will help.We can gather a dossier of hotspots and recent events.
Although I must stress that traveling to a hotspot could hold no more excitement than sitting in your garden on a cloudy night.

To tell you a bit about myself......I'm a 26 year old male with a bit of an enthusiasm for camping....I was camping when I saw my first UFO's or Nocturnal lights. This was last year near Foyers Fall's not far from Loch Ness. As you probably know Loch Ness is no stranger to wierd things happening.
No I don't believe in the Loch Ness monster,But I was aslo very cynical about UFO's.I have always been fascinated since I was very young and read lots of books on UFO phenomena. But when you read a lot of peoples accounts of what they saw its only too easy to think they saw something else or are just seeking attention.
After my own sighting I now read the accounts (Particularly on nocturnal lights) and they fit very well with what I saw.
It will be hard to explain it all without typing for weeks but here it is in the best way I can articulate..

Sitting with four of my mates around the campfire I thought it was a good time to go to the car and get more beer.On my way up to the car Something caught my eye, A very bright white streak travelling across the sky.The tail was about the same length as Hale-Bopp's tail although this thing was heading south at considerable speed.Too slow to be a shooting star and certainly not a satelite, because this was to my mind entering the atmosphere due to the massive tail.
I shouted on the lads, I thought we were going to witness a big impact. As they came up and also spotted it I was flabbergasted when the tail dissapeared and the object took on a yellowy white glow and started to move along the sky(just a little brighter than Venus). If it moved in a straight line this maybe would of been easier to accept as normal. But as it moved south it bobbed up and down almost as if it was doing complete circles in the air whilst still heading in the same direction. Being a keen learner pilot I knew not only that these circles it was performing must of had a radius of at least a hundred feet each, but that an entry into our atmosphere at that speed would crush not only humans but destroy all of our flying machines(that I know of).
After maybe two minutes of watching it travel in this fashion it stopped in mid air, still doing it's odd circling. When one of my buddies said "Whats that up there?" we saw a dim red light static in the sky not far from the white object. At this moment the red one started to also perform the odd circling. Astonishingly they both circled Syncrhoniously,Their movements exactly the same.At this point the white object dissapeared, It just vanished!. Then the red one went straight up till it was hidden behind some cloud cover.
This was the end of our sighting and it affected us all in different ways.Steve just says he knows what he saw and that was it.Justins explanation is virtualy non exsistant.Richard spends a lot of time trying to attribute what we saw to natural or man made causes.Poor Billy was asleep and missed it all.
I,on the other hand can't let go of this. I always wanted to see something like this but it has only caused more confusion.
In my opinion it was not man-made. We would not spend billions on making dangerous rockets for space reasearch if we could just "Pop in and out" as I saw.Balloons? Spyplanes? none of these fit the bill.

I now spend too much time on this and not enough on Earthly matters.
Because now I do believe..OK,abductions I do still have difficulty with accepting but after what I saw I can no longer discount them completely.

Anyway the purpose of all this is to try and get some kind of peoples UFO reasearch for the people rather than organisations that are obviously trying to keep getting funds without seeming like loonies or just a waste of time.
I more than likely will never see anything like this again..But I will do my damn best to make it so, After all the only person I need to convince is me.

Out of all my reasearch this is what I think..UFO's and discs although known to go where they damn please seem to prefer secluded areas( the two I saw must have been over the Mondaliath Mountains). It has also been noted that they are slightly more common over large bodys of water. Some acounts state that discs have taken on water from rivers and lakes,Obviously fresh water is prefered as opposed to sea water.Though I dont see why It would matter to a super advanced race!
From experience I believe you have more chance of spotting one at night, maybe just because their glow can be more easily seen against the night sky.
All space debris entering our atmosphere go east,But I'm not too sure about sattelites orbit. Not that I think this matters, people will always attribute UFO sightings to planes, sattelites or re-entering space debris. To them I say "Well I've seen lots of those things before this was not what I saw!".

There are many places in the UK where odd stuff happens.Loch Ness being a famous one,Although not yet for UFO's.Just next to loch ness is Boleskine House,Alistair Crowley's abode for quite a while .It has been said that the sightings of the monster were more frequent when he lived there!.not that I care I just want flying saucers.
There is a hill in Wales that I've heard there are a lot of Odd thing going on all the time. The name evades me for now but I'll let you know when I remember.

my goodness I dont always go on quite so much.
Anyway,Welcome aboard! I'm afraid for now it's just you and I on H2G2.Although I'm sure it will snowball soon ...So I'm going to start on a page soon.
Would be very happy to have you ideas and input.

Hi, I've been on holiday to France. Spectacularly clear skys and the only UFOs were birds we could not identify from our European Birds guide. Had a tyre blow on the caravan on the dual carriageway in France on the way home. Horrible experience. Still taking liquid relaxant as we speak, a nice glass of cheap Bordeaux.

Any further news?

Hi, hope you had fun in France!!

News? None I'm afraid.
Things have been a bit slow but a couple of more people are now interested on contributing.

My mates thought my login name should be Fox Mulder so I made another account... I AM Not an X-File as such so don't worry ! But having that login has attracted some like minded people.(Or maybe people that watch too much TV ...we shall see.
Anyway I have started a bit on UFOS on the X-philes home page .
If you have any input just add to the conversation.
talk to you soon.

Theres a bit on UFOS I done in there under the name Fox Mulder.....
No I AM Not A total X-file.
Just Mulder seemed kind of appropriate...
Anyway there are a few more people interested..
If you have anything to add to it , Please do ..
It is mostly conjecture anyway , as facts on this subject are few and far between ..
Talk to you soon

are you an experienced "Stargazer"?
E.g. Have you seen satelites and other man made objects moving around the sky before?
by man -made i dont' mean planes and stuff, more like rocket parts reentering?
I have seen lots of satellites so have some reference to discount Man-made things.....In saying all that you will know if it is not.
My experience showed me that there was NO grey area . It was certainly nothing like anything I had observed before . Which makes me wonder about many peoples accounts that are discounted as spy planes or balloons!!!
Anyway happy hunting .. A bit of astronomy might help the get the family a bit more interested , and maybe not make you seem like your doing something pointless ..

Out of the X-philes bunch Peanut seems quite interested in this kind of stuff, Though I have not chatted much yet.

Talk to you later

I'm not going to suggest you buy some.. I borrowed mine .But a great toy all the same.

Thanks for the "night vision" suggestion, I need some new bins but I cannot afford too much so I'll try and borrow too.
Never got away for the weekend though, in-laws came here so the only star gazing was on DVDs. Angelas Ashes, what a depressing film. After events in USA this week I needed something light. THIS WAS NOT IT!!
Clearish night tonight so I might try some staring into the black for a little while near home. Bye smiley - cheers Have one on me.

I have been downloading some UFO footage from one of many file sharing programs that are floating around these days.
Some stuff I've got is pretty intruging (I give up trying to spell it) ..Some very bad.
Obviously the quality is somewhat reduced compared to the original films but there are some little gems which make the mind bogggle.

In total I have about 30 meg of foootage , half of which is pretty poor . The other half raises questions to some degree.
I would be happy to send you all of thiis stuff .. If you have a cable modem this would be fine and easily done .

But if like me and most other Brits you have a 56k or less then this wont be so easy..
But as I say most of at least half of it is poor or just silly anyway.
on average each clip is less than 2 meg... and to be honest only maybe 5 are worth youre perusal.
Maybe you have already seen some of them anyway, on TV or something .

Anyway if you have a slow modem (as I do ) then I could send some one at a time ,Starting with the best stuff!
I'd be interested to hear your opinions . I shall always be trying to get more and will keep you posted.

Hmm.. Im thinking about how you can leave your email without leving it permanently in the guide. the only way I can think of is by putting a new guide entry in either your journal and removing it later.
If you want this stuff let me know and I'll tell you when I've got your mail address. Failing all that mIRC or other chatrooms are a possibilty.
Also if youve got a buddy with cable , why not abuse their connection ... I use my mates as often as I can!!

Hi Mond,

Cable? Nah, we're the land that NTL forgot when it comes to technology. Want to send your best shot to [email protected]. I'm not concerned about my e-mail showing. The amount of junk I get it seems pointless covering it up!
Just sneaked a look through the curtains but the light polution from Leeds is too bright to see much. smiley - doh

Anyway, it's Friday night and a bottle of Bergerac calls
smiley - online2long

text yah soon, cheers matey
