A Conversation for The Grateful Dead

Hi Doc - I thought your entry on the band just great. I'm still trying to get my head round the fact that the party's over. I last saw them at Wembley, at the end of the European tour. I managed to get tickets for all three nights, total gluttony, and just as well seeing how Jerry upped and offed not long after.
You mention writing in your introduction. That's what I do, parked up here in a tiny village in the middle of no where.

Godojos!
Hey thanks for the reply on my post. Sorry it's been so long since I replied, but it has been a crazy past couple of months.
Glad to see a BritHead online! That is very cool that you got to see them at Wembley. I was lucky enough to catch 24 shows since 1989. I got on board a little late, but had a ton of fun anyway.
I've been able to see Phil and Bobby's solo bands. They're good fun, but it will never be the same. In fact, tomorrow night I'm going to see a great cover band called The Dark Star Orchestra. They pick a Dead show at random and play it in its entirety. They are amazing. Close your eyes and you're at a Dead show. Check them out if they head your way. www.darkstarorchestra.org
And, yes, I am a writer. I currently work at a television station in Seattle, but I'm growing tired of writing for TV. But work is work, eh?
Hope things are well in England. I visited in 1999 and loved it. Hopefully I can head back soon.
Take care,
doc

Greetings from Denmark.A real Distant Deadhead here.
I first discovered GD about 15 years ago and has been hooked since.
I was so lucky as to see them in Stockholm on the European tour ´91.

Hmmm.... I'm not really "distant" exept compared to you guys.... I'm from the US.
I can't really believe it's over, either. I'm so glad I got to go to some of the shows. My dad took me to them when I was pretty young. Turned me into the young Deadhead I am now. I was at the last Chicago show. I was devastated when I heard Jerry was gone...

Hey T'Mershi, I can't believe it! You like the Grateful Dead and Frank Zappa. I think we may have something in common.
