Halloween meet!

Right, fords has come up with an acronym for a Halloween meet so it seems only right that we should have one.
The acronym is HAMSTER - HAlloween Meet Scares The Erstwhile Researchers (or Scares The Edinburgh Residents, which seems more likely).
Saturday November 1st good for everyone?

erm, yeah, sounds alright, i dont know edinburgh that well, so someone might have to rescue me from the train station.
seeing as its a haloween meet do we have to wear fancy dress?
also the london meet is on the same day so some people might have planned to go to that.

Okay, if all the venues interested in hosting the meet would care to submit their proposals by, say, Tuesday this week...
I can't remember the last time anyone from the SRG went to one of the London meets, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Glasgow's good for me. Only been on here for 4 1/2 years so I really should meet some of my fellow weirdos-off-the-internet.

The Edinburgh meets are traditionally held in Edinburgh anyway cos we have the better spooky tours. Being scared by neds just doesn't cut it

Well, Edinburgh meets sorta have to be held in Edinburgh don't they? Edinburgh meets in London tend to be called London meets.

You mean, the thought of me wandering along isn't scary enough?

I might be on for it, it would be nice to do a meet I've never done one and could there be a better time than Hallowe'en? Alas it's day one of NaNoWriMo and I'm supposed to go to a Euroween party [that would be your standard Hallowe'en with Europop music and Eurovision costumes, and no, I don't know why?!] but I haven't decided yet, so put me down as a maybe for now.

have we decided which city we are having it in?
i vote glasgow, as i will have been at a haloween party the evening before and will probably be in no fit state to travel to edinburgh and then to dundee.
plus wasnt last years sort of called off at the last minute haloween meet supposed to be in glasgow, i remember i was moving flats that day and so couldnt attend.

It wasn't called-off so much as only Jamie and I attended and then spent two hours making smalltalk and looking-around for other attendees before calling it a day.
But yes, it was in Glasgow so the myth of Edinburgh tradition has been popped (I'm not sure that makes any sense)!

i would have come but i was moving my possesions across the city at the time,
i still vote glasgow as it means less travelling in the long run, and edinburgh is expensive! im an impoverished student.
