Infinitely preferable to the tradition of dunking things in batter and frying them just to see what they taste like!

Best served with mint sauce, unless you're planning on dunking your fish and chips in them.

Not Scottish really, the mushy peas.
But then some things you would prefer to stick in mushy peas than boiling fat.
