I see you've already been ACEd by Suz, but I'd like to add my own welcome to hers. So:
Welcome!
I've got a page I wrote for newbies here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A577758 with links to places with other links that might be of interest to you. Also, my user page, which you can get to by clicking on my name, has a list of all the clubs and so forth I'm involved with, some of which may also interest you. Best thing to do around here, really, is to lurk around for a week or so and see what's going on where, what people are like, dropping a note or two here and there. We're a friendly community-- we don't bite, ever-- and you're welcome everywhere.
If there's anything you need or you just want to chat, just let me know by either responding to this message, or leaving me a note on my user page. I hope to see you around-- enjoy!!

Hi Amy
Thanks for the welcome + links. I haven't been online a lot recently (been busy) and I am one of those person who needs time to get used to a new place... since I'm so good at procrastinating I suppose I should start from that club ... but I can do it later.... see what I mean :D
Oh well

It does take a bit... I've been here for almost two years (my h2g2 anniversary is the 29th of this month!), so not much really confuses me anymore, since I had to adapt along with all the changes. But the smileys *do* take some practice... half the battle is remembering whether we have a smiley for this or that, rather than the code.
The Royal Procrastinator's Society is a great place to meet people-- as are all the links on my page. I've made several very close friens here, and lemme tell ya, distance is no obstacle. I love them all dearly. *gets mushy and reminiscent*
Anyway! Glad you're enjoying yourself... talk again soon.
~Amy
