Well, I have going around anouncing that I will be spending less time on h2g2 in the foreseeable future and that I am leaving an email addy for anyone that would like to keep in contact with me in a regularish type way

If I haven't come round to your space and said this it isn't because I don't want to keep in contact with you, it is because I am socially awkward and also don't want to flood the place and would like to leave in reasonably good grace and would just prefer to leave an open invite

will be around for the next couple of weeks but this is me saying goodbye for a while

I've almost withdrawn from the site several times recently. It just doesn't seem to have as much to offer (and I haven't been here for 40 years like you), but I can't bring myself to sign out (I'm permanently signed in) and delete that bookmark, and when I look in I can't help reading.

I've never made sloe gin, so I can't say. However, for some reason, I strongly suspect that I would actually prefer sloe gin. Does that say something about me, that I think I would prefer the unknown rather than the known, no matter how good the known is?
