Just thinking about you, so I thought I'd drop you a line.

*hugs Chris*

I love the flag you put in your nickname. That's just beautiful.

How have you been? How's the job at the Towers treating you?

Hey you.

Oo, hi you! *feels all hugged and thought-about* smiley - smiley

I saw that flag on someone else's nickname, and thought it was A Good Thing. So I did the only responsible thing and fully stole it.

It's been an interesting week-and-a-half alright. People have mainly been excellent and intelligent and sensitive, which has been a constant source of joy. I'm actually quite proud to be working on a site where people can discuss things and talk and comfort each other. The Internet is King!

Mark and Sam are away on holiday, and Peta's got a few days off, so we're all alone. Things are going well, and we're getting more and more attention from Those Above, which is flattering. smiley - smiley

So, what kind of *serious* job are you gong to get? smiley - biggrin

Hey you.

Well, that's a very good question, Chris. I'm... uh... well...

I haven't the foggiest notion.

Going through the paper, checking out websites, and so forth. I was going to go fax resumes today, but, um... I'm overdrawn at my bank. Ergo; no money for faxes. Grrrr....

Anyway. I'm getting better. Feeling better about certain things. smiley - smiley

Did you just love that little Lego Monty Python thing? I haven't laughed so hard... *giggles like a little school girl.*

Hey you.

Fantastic stuff! So much detail... that's the kind of job you want. smiley - smiley

You might just be able to fax things from your computer without having to use paper or a fax machine at all. I seem to remember OS9 came with something called FaxStf, or something, which just faxes straight down your modem line... If you can get it to work, you could get a job as a computer specialist, I should think! smiley - biggrin

Heh. Well, Chuk could make it work, so I could ride his brain for a bit... smiley - winkeye

My mother-in-law called me yesterday and told me that the local See's Candy is hiring. That's exactly what I need, a job where I get free chocolate... *bloats up to 300 lbs...*

Anyway. Beach later today, then coffee after that. Chuk is such a great date... smiley - smiley

Stay happy. You are such a sweetie. Love ya, Chris. smiley - smiley

Aw, thanks. smiley - blush

I'm generally very happy, except for the fact that my better half has just gone off to Bangkok for two weeks on business, so I'm left all alone. smiley - sadface

Still, it *does* mean that every night is beer, pizza and movie night! smiley - biggrin

Beer, pizza AND movie? Wow. Maybe I should send Chuk to Bangkok... smiley - winkeye

On a similar note, Chuk and I have decieded to start our own business! Wheee! The joys of Capitalism and unbridled terror combined into one, fresh-smelling package!

We're gonna start a business in which Chuk is the teacher of Final Cut Pro, and I'm the gal behind the scenes that makes everything run smoothly. smiley - smiley So that's nice.

Yowzer - mixing business with pleasure! Tricky one that, but if you can do it, good luck to ya! Maybe you should run it by your Yoda-like parents... they sound as if they're *experts* at this whole shebang!

The Beeb uses FCP for a number of editing jobs - they have a huge suite on one of the floors above which is packed with computers and enormous humming digital VCRs. Mmmmmmassively expensive equipment... smiley - smiley

Hey you.

Well, I mentioned it to my dad, and he was like, totally gung-ho enthusiastic about it.

Of course, I'm banking on Chuk's FCP knowledge to make it work. I'm thinking that I'm gonna start learning the software myself and help out a bit, but that's gonna take a while.

We're kinda up against a (unchosen) deadline: On November 1st, Chuk's out of a job. His boss (stepdad!) ran the business into the ground. They're closing the office and moving back to the house to run the business. And Chuk don't want nothing to do with it... (Can't blame him, really: His stepdad is like Jabba the Hut.)

So, yeah. smiley - smiley

FCP is dead cool, and it's only getting more and more popular, so I imagine it's a good investment. Good luck with that whole thing! smiley - smiley

Chuk sounds wise to keep out of collapsing business ventures, especially ones involving family - that's a huge minefield. Jabba the Hutt, eh? Could be useful for starting up a Bounty Hunting venture... smiley - winkeye
