Hi John,
The reason you're getting all those conversations, which are all for the same page (http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A148907) is that you must have clicked the 'Click here to be notified of new conversations about this entry' link at the bottom of it. This means that any new conversations get posted to your space, whether or not you ever took part in them.
To unsubscribe, simply click the 'Unsubscribe' link at the bottom of that page, and you'll once again only see conversations that you once posted in.
